An open letter to David Cameron

Dear Mr. Cameron

On the very day, 24th October 2012, that Tom Watson asked you a PMQ re. the possibility of a link between a very large and highly organised paedophile ring and No 10, you made a number of quotes to the mainstream media.

You were in fact referring to the Savile/BBC/NHS scandal.

I made a note of some of those quotes :-

”The Government will do all it can do, other institutions must do what they can do, to make sure that we learn the lesson of this and it can NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN”

“Collusion should NEVER happen again ”

”The measure of how our society is, is how we treat its most vulnerable members”

There are no more vulnerable members of our society than children who have been taken in to care and then re-abused by the very people charged with the responsibility of caring for them and protecting them,and even worse then passing them on to be further abused by the very people who make the laws in this country and are expected to lead the way on the moral compass of that society.

I have no doubt that you have watched or been made aware of Channel 4′s Dispatches on 12th September and the allegations that arose from it regarding the role of senior politicians, the security services and the Crown Prosecution Service in covering up the horrendous abuse carried out by Cyril Smith over 5 decades.The overlap with Savile in terms of who knew about this abuse were laid bare.

I also have no doubt that you are aware that your colleagues in your party, Edwina Currie,Gyles Brandreth and Rod Richards have made very damning statements of how well known in Westminster circles it was that Peter Morrison was a dangerous paedophile, and yet his career was unaffected as he rose to be Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Party, Mrs. Thatcher’s PPS in 1990 and her campaign manager that same year despite this knowledge having been around for many years.

I also have no doubt that you are aware of the statement of Tim Fortescue,Edward Heath’s Chief Whip from 1970-73, made public on Michael Cockerell’s BBC Documentary in 1995 called “Westminster’s Secret Service “.
Talking about the role of the chief whip, Fortescue said ” For anyone with any sense who was in trouble would come to the whips and tell them the truth ………….. it might be erm erm a scandal involving small boys ……….. we would do everything we can because we would store up brownie points ……. and if I mean, that sounds a pretty,pretty nasty reason, but it’s one of the reasons because if we could get a chap out of trouble then,he will do as we ask forever more.”

I don’t need to tell you of the revulsion I feel towards our political masters having worked with sexually abused children for over 30 years when I heard of how the Whips ran the Dirt Book system.

Your colleague, John Whittingdale, in his role as Chair of the Culture Committee,put himself forward as the moral voice of Parliament in the days following the exposure of Savile on national TV.
He lost no opportunity to appear on every news channel for many days to demand in effect the head of the Director General of the BBC.To date I have not heard you or Mr. Whittingdale demand such investigations in to your own institution despite the mountain of concern a small proportion of which I have referred to above.
Just on Savile alone without looking any further why was there no investigation along the lines of the many BBC inquiries in to why a British Prime Minister was so close to Savile that he allegedly attended 13 consecutive New Year’s Eve parties at Chequers and why the same Prime Minister allegedly persevered for many years in insisting that such an evil man long identified as having a deviant sexual history should get a knighthood,ignoring the advice of her closest advisers.
Why was the same man so welcome in Prince Charles’s properties despite the security services and similar vetting institutions having enough opportunity to tap in to the ” gossip” about Savile that was around for decades.

I would dearly like to go in to more detail but until the Metropolitan Police’s Operations Fernbridge and Fairbank are completed then for obvious reasons I can not.

In the aftermath of the Lord McAlpine affair I was extremely disappointed by the confusion you attempted to create by making accusations of gay witch-hunts. There is no connection whatsoever between being gay and being a paedophile.
This is about and only about people who abuse young children regardless of whether the abuser is heterosexual or gay.
There is no witch-hunt against gay people and it was most irresponsible for a Prime Minister to make such a statement when the abuse of our most vulnerable was the issue.

Now is the time for you to show the genuine commitment expected of a Prime Minister and do what you preached in those statements last October especially ” COLLUSION SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN ” and the demand that ALL institutions look inwards and examine their role in past collusion/cover up.

A starting point, and to give Parliament and Government any credibility in this heinous historical scandal, is for you to put all party political considerations aside and arrange an urgent meeting with Nick Clegg and Ed Miliband to draw up a blueprint as to how your own institution will be investigated along the lines of the way you and colleagues demanded that people be brought to account in the BBC or NHS for their failure to blow the whistle on Savile.

It would be better if you led such an exercise before it is forced upon you by public demand.
The latter will happen in time.

A starting point would be an immediate statement that there will be urgent cross-party talks to set up an independant body to examine who ordered these cover ups of people like Smith and Morrison, after ordering an immediate Police investigation by the National Crime Agency and ensuring that the latter body has sufficient resources to go wherever the evidence takes them and however long it takes. This must include the investigation of living politicians, police officers,civil servants,security services personnel etc.

The Spartacus paedophile network was exposed by the Sunday People in February 1983

Elm Guest House adverts in Capital Gay mentioned a ‘Discount for Spartacus Members’, which is thought to have been a coded message to paedophiles which meant sex with children was on offer.

Spartacus started out as a mainstream gay organisation in 1969, but by the time John D. Stamford took over it was catering for paedophiles. This is evident from these newspaper cuttings from the 1980s:

– A letter to The Observer from 1980 describing Spartacus members as ‘a minority within a minority’

– A Guardian article from 1984 referring to Spartacus as “the international paedophile information network”

– The Sunday Times ran a story exposing Spartacus in 1986 called Scandal of Britons who buy young boys for £3 a night.

But the Sunday People were the first paper to run a story on Spartacus in February 1983, just eight months after the Elm Guest House raid. This makes it clearer than ever that visitors knew exactly what to expect when they went to Rocks Lane. The ‘I was there for adult gay sex’ excuse isn’t going to fool anyone.

The more you look in to the sewer the deeper it gets.
We can add the Lord Chief Justice to the Attorney General and the Director of Public Prosecutions ( as in the cases of Sir Peter Hayman,Cyril Smith etc ) to the list of our most senior judicial figures who are party to Establishment cover-ups at worst and the making of appalling decisions totally out of sinct with public opinion at best.
Members of the judiciary who make comments such as possessing and distributing indecent images of children is like collecting cigarette cards, raping a 7 year old is something that could happen to anyone of us, to stop someone teaching because he has sexually abused children would be a serious loss to the teaching profession should not only be immediately removed from the Bar but should have their own backgrounds looked in to. The path for a victim to get justice is so difficult even before they come face to face with judges holding theses views

It never ceases to amaze me how far the Establishment will go to protect itself, even brazenly right in the glare of the public spotlight
Where are the investigations and Inquiries in to the role of politicians etc in the cover ups over child sexual abuse

Immediately after the Newsnight debacle John Whittingdale was so fast out of the traps to demand the head of the  BBC’s Director General that he was in danger of tripping over all the mikes that were in front of him when he decided to be interviewed by every media oulet he could possibly get hold of. David Cameron immediately followed this up when the Savile story broke by stating that “every institution” must look at themselves and fully investigate why no-one reported/exposed such staggering levels of abuse. EVERY institution includes Parliament, Government, Attorney General, DPP.

John Whittingdale and David Cameron are remarkably silent on this now.

I would like to suggest where they could start and there are numerous historic situations which are not subject to current Police investigations and therefore there is no conflict of interests

The BBC and the NHS will no doubt be severely censured over Savile further down the line.

At least these institutions did not have a formal policy to protect paedophiles

I would suggest that Parliament and indeed Government did

How else are we to interpret Chief Whip, Tim Fortescue’s statement on national TV ( ref. Michael Cockerell’s BBC Documentary ) that rather than refer to the Police when an MP is caught sexually abusing a child it is just kept as a matter of record in the Dirt Book to be used as a vehicle of control in the voting lobby at a later date !!!!!!!!!!!!!

How else do we interpret Edwina Currie’s statement, in her attempt to sell as many copies of a book as she could, that everyone at the top of the Thatcher Government knew Peter Morrison was a “PEDERAST”  – his reward promotion to be Deputy Chairman of the Tory Party, a Minister, Thatcher’s PPS and in charge of her 1990 election campaign

How else do we interpret Gyles Brandeth’s statements that everone in his constituency knew that Peter Morrison was a ” filthy pervert”

How else do we interpret the cover ups at the highest level manifested in statements from puppet Attorney Generals and DPP’s re. Peter Hayman, Cyril Smith, MP’s allegedly caught up in various Police/US Customs sting operations etc etc

How else do we interpret the treatment of Geoffrey Dickens at the hands of Parliament at the time and the convenient loss of his ” Dossier” since.

When and in what form will David Cameron be true to his word and order an investigation in to the role of Government, Parliament, the main political parties, the security services in at best a failure to expose child abuse from within their ranks and at worst a highly sophisticated cover up over the generations

Elm Guest House: The History of a Cover-up (updated)

The Elm Guest House story broke on 7th August 1982, when the Daily Express reported that “at least three MPs, a member of staff at Buckingham Palace, and leading lawyers, doctors and City businessmen” were questioned as part of inquires relating to “a vice ring” in “a brothel in a smart London suburb”.

Over the next 10 days more lurid allegations emerged in almost every national newspaper. A police raid on the guest house in Rocks Lane, Barnes, involving ‘up to 60 officers’ found ‘a huge store of pornographic material including video tapes’. ‘There were also whips, chains and ropes’. ‘There were two little boys being used as child prostitutes’. It was also revealed that Scotland Yard detectives were investigating the disappearance/murder of eight-year old Vishal Mehrotra and fifteen-year old Martin Allen in connection with the guest house.

After those initial 10 days of reporting there was nothing more in the papers. The reason for this silence is revealed in an article which appeared in Capital Gay magazine from August 1982.

Libel threats were used to silence the newspapers from reporting on the VIP paedophile ring. The Attorney General, Sir Michael Havers, personally investigated complaints from lawyers representing Elm Guest House.

Sir Michael Havers played a leading role in the Sir Peter Hayman cover-up, and told Geoffrey Dickens not to name the paedophile diplomat in Parliament. Havers argued that Hayman should have retained his anonymity, and didn’t think the British public needed to know that powerful Establishment figures abused children.

Scotland Yard denied the allegations made by the Daily Express that the guest house’s visitor list included three MPs and a member of Buckingham Palace staff. A spokesman for Elm Guest House told Capital Gay “these were professional business people. We are talking about barristers, doctors, a couple of priests and a vicar”.

It’s clear that Scotland Yard, Sir Michael Havers, and the Elm Guest House lawyers were all following the same script. It’s easy to blame the press for their part in the cover-up, but they were up against the most senior police and law officers in the country.

The most striking thing about the Capital Gay article is the strenuous denial of any link to the murder/disappearance of Vishal Mehrotra and Martin Allen, both of whom disappeared not far from Rocks Lane bewtween 1979 and 1981. Vishal Mehrotra went missing on the night of the Royal Wedding in 1981, when the Elm Guest House paedophiles were having a ‘Kings and Queens party’.

Capital Gay were the only media outlet to report on Elm Guest House for many years. It was a distinctly pro-paedophile paper, and was always first on the scene with paedophile news. They ran a story about an ‘Anti-Police Protection Fund’ which gave support to the beleagured paedophile brothel. Paul Rinehart, who was connected to the Elm Guest House paedophile ring, donated £1000 to the cause, and paid for a full page advert in Capital Gay.

They ran a series of articles which ended with the fixed Old Bailey trial in May 1983 in which most charges against the guest house owners, Haroon and Carole Kasir, were dropped, and the Kasirs walked away with just a fine. None of the prominent paedophiles were charged.

After 1983 there was nothing until 1990, when former guest house owner Carole Kasir died in highly suspicious circumstances from ‘an insulin overdose’. The coroner was the late Dr. John Burton, a ‘safe pair of hands’ who also presided over the Blair Peach and Lady Diana inquests. None of the newspapers who originally reported in 1982 ran a story on the inquest, other than the Times, who had run a denial of the allegations and therefore hadn’t received legal threats. This left the Sunday Mirror (who hadn’t reported in 1982 and were able to report), The Sport (which weren’t around in 1982), and local papers. So what would have been a massive story was kept relatively quiet, and headlines like this one from The Sport could be ignored because they came from a downmarket paper, and therefore most people would assume the allegations weren’t true:

Letter to The Guardian warning of powerful paedophile networks

This letter to the Guardian from June 1996 was in response to Jon Snow’s excellent article ‘True scandal of the child abusers’. A social care consultant warns that “paedophiles are able to walk away from justice because of their power and influence” and asks “Why is the press unwilling to tell what it knows about successful people in politics and business?”

And why are the Guardian still unwilling to cover the Peter Righton investigation into “a powerful paedophile network linked to Parliament and No. 10”, despite being in possession of all the evidence that was passed to the police?

Fernbridge/Fairbank

The source of Tom Watson’s PMQ has drawn my attention to this comment he left on the Needle Blog. Although it’s easy to assume Operation Fernbridge will be yet another whitewash,
this comment from someone who actually knows what’s happening with the police operation seems to suggest otherwise:

He or she can come back in 6/12 months and make me eat my words if I’m wrong
The investigations being carried out against “celebrities” by Yewtree team are relatively straightforward and uncomplicated compared with what Fairbank /Fernbridge are dealing with
Trust me Tom Watson is only being discreet and bound by confidentiality sub judice rules at present
You have to realise that we are talking about over 40 years of abuse at the very highest level of British society where senior politicians and their networks have been protected at the highest level by the legal system (Attorney General and Director of Public Prosecutions level), the security services, senior management in the Police and press controls
This is not going to be untangled overnight
This Police team have to resist the temptation to get quick results to satisfy social media conspiracy theories etc and concentrate on doing what no one has done before i.e JOIN THE DOTS
If done properly and with the evidence really secured it will be a very historic moment and should change our society for the better for ever
Removing control from a rich and powerful elite is not an overnight success story I’m afraid

Leon, Maggie, Elm Guest House, and the CGHE

In January, Exaro News and the Sunday People revealed that the Conservative Group for Homosexual Equality (CGHE) “strongly recommended” that its members visit the Elm Guest House, which was being used as a front for a paedophile ring that sexually abused children as young as 10 who had been procured from children’s homes run by Richmond Council. In 1983, Margaret Thatcher’s Home Secretary, Leon Brittan, wrote to the CGHE and as well as saying he supported the wholly reasonable aim of reducing the age of homosexual consent to 18, he told them that the Conservative Party supported “all minorities”. He didn’t specify whether this support included the paedophile minority.

The Paedophile Information Exchange (PIE), who campaigned for the age of consent to be reduced to 4 years old, had successfully infiltrated the gay liberation movement and positioned themselves as an oppressed minority group. They had also persuaded politicians to support their cause, and they claimed that two MPs were on their mailing list.

Although it may seem far-fetched that any government would support a paedophile organisation, you only have to look at the Thatcher government’s record on child abuse to realise that the rights of paedophiles were given more importance than the rights of children. They refused to ban the Paedophile Information Exchange despite a petition which attracted over a million signatures from members of the public. Read more

The Conservative Group for Homosexual Equality were keen supporters of Thatcher, as we can see from these Capital Gay articles from April/May 1982, although she was less keen to show her support for them. Was this becase she was aware of their connections to the Elm Guest House and wanted to distance herself from them?

Some Labour politicians also supported paedophiles. The National Council for Civil Liberties (NCCL), now known as Liberty, whose officials included Harriet Harman, Patricia Hewitt, Jack Dromey, and Henry Hodge, were affiliated to PIE. In 1978 the NCCL passed a resolution which stated that images of child abuse should only be considered indecent if it could be proved that the children involved had suffered harm. Read more

Former Liberal leader David Steel publicly attacked Tory MP Geoffrey Dickens for naming the senior diplomat Sir Peter Hayman as a paedophile. Liberal MP Sir Cyril Smith attended the Elm Guest House, and was also linked to child murderer Sidney Cooke, and leading PIE member Peter Righton, whose paedophile network preyed on children in schools and children’s homes across the UK.

There were also powerful Establishment figures outside the main political parties who were involved in covering up paedophile networks. The Attorney General, Sir Michael Havers, threatened Fleet Street over their coverage of the Elm Guest House paedophile network, and effectively stopped them from reporting on it after August 1982. Havers, along with the Director of Public Prosecutions, Sir Thomas Hetherington, protected paedophile diplomat Sir Peter Hayman, and Hetherington allowed the leader of the Paedophile Information Exchange to flee the country and escape a jail sentence.
