PERIL OF A CHILD SEX CLUB BAN (Daily Mirror, 25th August 1983)
A Tory MP said yesterday he opposed a move to make the child sex group Paedophile Information Exchange illegal.
Cyril Townsend, MP for Bexleyheath, said: “I have no doubt that these people are evil, but if such an organisation is banned and goes underground the job the police is made more difficult.”
The PIE promoted the idea that sex between adults and children is natural, desirable and should be made legal.
