The Franklin Scandal

Anyone who is aware of UK paedophile ring cover-ups like Elm Guest House, North Wales care homes, Kincora Boys’ Home, etc., should watch this documentary ‘Conspiracy of Silence’ about the Franklin Scandal. The Franklin Scandal started as a fraud investigation into a credit union in Omaha, Nebraska, but led to the discovery of a powerful paedophile network involving prominent Republicans.

The documentary was made by Yorkshire Television in 1993 and had a budget of £500,000. It was intended to be shown on the Discovery Channel, but they pulled out shortly before it was due to be broadcast and it was never shown on television. The version here is a rough edit but still very watchable. The director is respected British journalist Tim Tate, whose book ‘Child Pornography’ is a valuable resource on organised paedophile networks like the Paedophile Information Exchange. I’ve posted an extract from his book here.

The most disturbing parallel with UK child abuse cover-ups, especially North Wales, is the way witnesses were interfered with to stop them testifying against the accused. A private investigator died in an unexplained plane crash and a victim’s brother died in ‘a gun accident’. Another victim was jailed for 15 years for perjury because she refused to drop her accusations against prominent people.

More information on the Franklin Scandal can be found at Nick Bryant’s website. There are also two books on the subject, The Franklin Scandal by Nick Bryant, and The Franklin Cover-Up by former Nebraska state senator John W. DeCamp.
